I play in a band called Eyelit when I am not dreaming of being a lost boy or a Goonie. eyelit.bandcamp.com
Today a 93 year old man came up to me and told me what a beautiful day it was. After I agreed, he said, “I tell ya what. I was married for 64 years and never once had an argument with my wife.”
"I never even thought about disagreeing with her," he continued, "except for once. As soon as I felt warm I went out to the garage for about 2 minutes and thought ‘why am I acting like this to a woman that treats me this wonderfully’."
After he finished this portion, I told him that I was happy he shared that with me. I told him about the one time I was in love and how I had those same feelings at one point in time. Of course, he tried to comvince me that I would find it again, and of course, I told him how unsure I am of love, marriage, relationships.
I then told him how thankful I was that he was so chipper at that age. My 95 year old grandfather just passed away and he couldn’t wait to end his pain and get away from the world.
This goes to show that those storybook fantasies can happen, just not for everyone. I wish everyone the best amd all the happiness in the world. It may happen for me and it may not. Only time will tell, really.
Hopefully this big move across the country will prove positive.
